At Oakwood School we understand how important it is for children to eat a healthy and balanced meal during the day.
Children are welcome to either have a school lunch or bring a packed lunch from home.
If you would like to order a school meal please order on 'SchoolGrid'. Please note that all meals must be ordered this way regardless of whether payment is required. If you have any difficulties with ordering or payment or are new to us please contact the school office who will be able to advise you.
School Lunches are free of charge to children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. Unfortunately other year groups are not part of the universal offer and must be paid for unless you are entitled to free school meals.
If you are in receipt of benefits you may be entitled to free school meals, please contact the office if you would like an eligibility form.
Our lunches are provided be Innovate and are cooked on the premises by our school cooks. A school dinner from the exciting Lunch menu costs just TBC for primary pupils and TBC for secondary pupils per day.
We are pleased to let you know that our school will soon be using SchoolGrid, an online system for ordering and paying for school meals from Monday 13th April.
What You Need to Do
You will receive a welcome email directly from SchoolGrid.
This email will contain instructions on how to activate your account and create your password. This email should be sent around Monday 30th March 2026
To set up your SchoolGrid account, the school will securely share the necessary parent and pupil information with SchoolGrid. You can view SchoolGrid’s Privacy Policy here (copy and paste into your browser):

· Meals can be ordered daily, weekly, monthly or even on a termly basis.
· You can also make a same day order up to 8:55 am.
If your child receives free school meals, you must still place the order through SchoolGrid.
If you pay for school meals, there are two payment options:
Card Top-Up
Add credit to your account using your debit or credit card.
Direct Debit
○ Payments are collected monthly in arrears.
○ The amount may vary depending on the number of meals taken.
○ You will receive a statement two weeks before the payment is collected. This will confirm the exact amount, the collection date, and the meals included.
To place a meal order, your account must either have sufficient credit or an active Direct Debit. If not, you will receive a reminder message, and you will be unable to complete the order.
If your child will not be taking their meal, please remember to cancel the order on SchoolGrid. If you do not cancel, you may still be charged. Cancelling also helps us reduce food waste.
