Attendance
We expect all children on roll to attend every day, when the school is in session, as long as they are fit and healthy enough to do so. We believe that the most important factor in promoting good attendance is development of positive attitudes towards school. To this end, we strive to make our school a happy and rewarding experience for all children. We will also make the best provision we can for those children who, due to ill health, are prevented from coming to school.
Oakwood Attendance Competition
We run a weekly attendance competition for all classes:
Prize: To get Oakwood Ted to keep in the classroom for the week and choose his/her outfit.
Competition Categories:
The class with the highest percentage of attendance for the week. If more than one class has 100% attendance for the week work out the cumulative for the year and the class with the highest percentage will be the winner.
The class with the highest number of children with 100% attendance for that week.
The class with the highest percentage of children with 100% attendance for that week.
The above categories to rotate each week. This will enable the classes with children who have complex medical needs, whose attendance is low, to have a turn.
All children in the winning class will get a certificate.
The winning class to return Oakwood Ted to the office on Friday morning.
