For the new academic year, we are changing our assessment process in line with our new curriculum.  We will be using assessment based on a learner's previous work as opposed to measuring their progress based on external criteria and standards.  Following our research, we will be using two models of assessment to capture children’s progress; MAPP and Quest for learning. Your child’s class teacher will spend time with you next year to explain the new systems to show how they show your child’s progress.

Due to the very small cohorts of children in school it is not appropriate to publish detailed information about progress as individual children could be easily identified.

Data is analysed systematically within the school and comparisons made between different groups of children.  These include :-

  • Boys/girls
  • Children with Autism
  • Ethnic Origins
  • Level of Need  - Severe Learning Difficulties and Complex Needs
  • Disadvantaged, in receipt of free school meals
  • Looked after children


Currently, there are no significant differences in the progress of different groups of children. More detailed information is available by application to the school.
